Terms & Conditions
1. Service Agreement
By booking a service with DKT Car Valeting, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure a clear understanding between both parties and to provide the highest level of service.
2. Booking and Payment
- Booking Confirmation: All bookings are subject to availability. A booking is only confirmed once you receive a confirmation from us via email.
- Payment Methods: We accept payments via cash and bank transfers. Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Deposits: For services exceeding £240, a deposit of 50% may be required at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable if the booking is canceled within 6 days of the scheduled time.
- Quoted Prices: All prices provided at the time of booking are estimates based on the information given by the client. They are not fixed prices. If, upon arrival, the condition of the vehicle is significantly worse than described (e.g., heavy soiling, excessive pet hair, stains, mold), additional charges will apply to cover the extra time, effort, and materials required. Clients will be informed of any additional charges before the service begins.
3. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Client Cancellations:
- More than 6 days' notice: No charge.
- 1–6 days' notice: 50% of the service fee.
- Less than 24 hours' notice or no-show: 100% of the service fee.
If you reschedule your appointment within 6 days of the original date, no rescheduling fee will be charged. You may reschedule once without a fee; after that, our cancellation policy will apply.
DKT Car Valeting Cancellations:
In rare circumstances, we may need to reschedule or cancel your booking due to unforeseen events (e.g., extreme weather, equipment failure). We will provide as much notice as possible and offer alternative arrangements.
4. Client Responsibilities
- Vehicle Access: Ensure that your vehicle is accessible at the agreed time and location. If we cannot access the vehicle, it may be treated as a cancellation.
- Personal Belongings: Please remove all personal items from your vehicle prior to our arrival. We are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items left in the vehicle.
- Vehicle Condition: Inform us of any known issues with your vehicle that may affect the service (e.g., faulty electrics, loose trim). We are not liable for damage resulting from undisclosed issues.
5. Service Limitations
- Additional Charges: Vehicles in extremely poor condition (e.g., excessive dirt, pet hair, mold) may incur additional charges due to the extra time and materials required. We will inform you of any additional charges before commencing work.
- Child Seats: For safety reasons, we do not remove or refit child seats. If you wish for the area beneath the seat to be cleaned, please remove the seat prior to our arrival.
6. Liability
- Damage: While we take utmost care during our services, we are not liable for pre-existing damage or defects, or damage resulting from ill-fitting trims or loose parts.
- Weather Conditions: Services are subject to weather conditions. In cases of severe weather, we may need to reschedule your appointment.
eGift Card Rules:
- No Refunds – All eGift card purchases are final and non-refundable. Cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.
- Valid for 12 Months Only – Expired cards will not be accepted and cannot be reactivated or extended.
- Redemption & Service Pricing – May be used toward any eligible service. If the service price exceeds the card value, the customer must pay the remaining balance.
- No Partial Refunds on Lower-Priced Services – If the service costs less than the card value, the difference will not be refunded. Remaining value can be applied toward additional services during the same appointment only.
- Not Replaceable if Lost or Stolen – DKT Car Valeting is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged eGift cards. We reserve the right to refuse redemption if fraud or misuse is suspected.
- Non-Transferable Without Permission – May be transferred only with proof of purchase. We may request identification.
- Cannot Be Used With Certain Discounts – May not be combined with promotional codes or special offers unless explicitly stated.
- Booking Requirements – Possession of an eGift card does not guarantee availability. Customers must book in advance and comply with our regular policies.
- Business Right to Modify Terms – DKT Car Valeting reserves the right to update these rules at any time.
7. Late Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Where an invoice has been issued, payment terms apply from the date the invoice is created. A payment is considered late if it has not been received within 14 days (2 weeks) of the invoice date.
Business-to-Business (B2B) Customers
If the customer is a business, sole trader, limited company, partnership, or public authority, late payments will be subject to statutory interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998:
- Statutory Interest: Interest will be charged at 8% above the Bank of England base rate per annum, calculated on a daily basis from the day after the 14-day payment period expires until the outstanding balance is paid in full.
- Fixed Compensation: In addition to interest, DKT Car Valeting reserves the right to claim fixed compensation per overdue invoice as set out in the Act:
- £40 for debts under £1,000
- £70 for debts between £1,000 and £9,999.99
- £100 for debts of £10,000 or more
- Recovery Costs: Where the fixed compensation does not cover the reasonable costs of recovering the debt, DKT Car Valeting reserves the right to claim those additional reasonable costs.
Private (Consumer) Customers
If the customer is a private individual (non-business), late payments will be handled as follows:
- A payment is considered overdue 14 days after the invoice date.
- A first written reminder will be sent at no charge once the invoice becomes overdue.
- If the invoice remains unpaid 7 days after the first reminder, an administrative late payment fee of £15 will be added to cover the reasonable costs of chasing payment (postage, time, and administration).
- If the invoice remains unpaid 30 days after the original invoice date, simple interest may be charged at 4% per annum on the outstanding balance, calculated daily until paid in full, in line with section 69 of the County Courts Act 1984.
- If payment is not received within 60 days of the invoice date, the debt may be referred to a debt recovery agency or pursued through the Small Claims Court, and the customer will be liable for any reasonable recovery costs incurred.
General
- Goodwill payment plans may be agreed in writing on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of DKT Car Valeting.
- Future bookings may be refused or require payment up front while a previous invoice remains outstanding.
- These late payment terms apply automatically and do not require a separate agreement.
8. Photography and Marketing
We may take before and after photographs of your vehicle for quality assurance and marketing purposes. If you do not wish for images to be used, please inform us in writing prior to the service.
9. Complaints and Feedback
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us within 24 hours of the service completion. We will make every effort to resolve any issues promptly.
10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
